[tut] how to offline view mazatrol programs on pc
I've been looking for a solution for a few years now. Here is what I did that works with a QT250-IIM Matrix control
step 1.
Download Mazatrol Viewer here: http://victoriacaruk.com/Mazatrol%20viewer.zip
step 2.
On your control.
Softkey Data I/O
Hit the right arrow to go to next page. Or you can softkey one of the 3 options (Card,Hard disk, USB)
Softkey Data I/O Param
Cursor over to the right side where it says Format. Change it from ISO to ASCII.
Step 3.
Transfer you program over to the PC and now you can open it in Mazatrol Viewer.
This is a Read Only. No editing.
We have a few Mazaks and would have to load the program into the machine just to see how we ran parts/get numbers to work with other machines.
Hope this helps others that were in my situation. - Titanium

Ok I think I messed this up guys. After some more testing I put it back to ISO and still got it to work. Sorry if you tried it and it didn't work. I must of changed 2 things at once and that is how i got it to work.
The other thing I changed was this.
When you hit NC->HD SAVE. make sure TEXT FORMAT is not highlighted. It should save it as a .PBF file. If you hightlight TEXT FORMAT it saves it as a .PAF which won't load up in mazatrolviewer.
Can someone else confirm if this works for you? - Diamond

i have saved mazatrol M32 programs and they do not open with notepad. i believe they are saved as binary and not as ascii text. that is i can view program with notepad and see some text but 99% is unreadable
.
the control might even be deliberately doing it to force buying a full EIA option package for more money
.
nothing like a company using a proprietary format nothing else can read to force you to buy something to read programs on other machines - Titanium

There is an option on the T+ controls to 'print' if you hook up a printer to the RS232 port but we never have tried. Probably like many other Mazak features it may need a special 'Mazak' printer to work.
MazaView is supposed to work for file viewing and transfer on older controls but haven't messed with it. There is a free 30 day trial then its $199. MazView - Mazak Mazatrol file-viewer and communications [home]
We bought a handheld USB device just to transfer programs after fiddeling around with a laptop and cable that had more mis-connects the connects that it got PO'd and threw in the trash one day when I really needed to upload a program now to get a job out the door.
Here is a link to the thread I started about it Handheld DNC to USB device for older Mazatrol controls. - Diamond

printer that connects to a rs232 serial port is very rare - Titanium

I was able to get a Nexus controller to print out my programs exactly as they appear on the screen. However, due to some screwy setting, it appeared to delete ALL of my programs from my machine. Luckily, after a few frightening moments of waiting for a machine reboot, they all magically reappeared. No more messing around with that for me.

You can also download and install a cutepdf writer in ur Windows based mazatrol controller and do a print to file. It will save a pdf that you can put on a flash drive and print it.

I use MazView on our 2 machines (T2 and T3 controller)
I have 1 licens and connected both machines to the same PC (2 serial ports) and then I select between these machines in MazView.
If you looking for a way to save programs from older controller to PC I recommend this.
It is not so good for viewing programs, at least for T2 and T3 controllers there is a lot of mazatrol codes missing, so some processes like a manual process will not be displayed.

Firstly I'm very new to CNC machining, but recently got a job as labourer in an small engineering firm. i pretty much load the cnc's press start etc, unload.
my boss is currently trying to teach me to program the machines, and i'm slowly getting there.
what i want to know is, is there software availble to program from a pc, or load from cad software to the controller. i need practise programming and looking at some sort of simulation program as well. my boss is pretty old school, but willing to buy software at a reasonable price, not the 60k mazak wanted for their software.
the machines we are using are:
Mazatrol Programming software, free download Windows 10
software, free download Games

- mazak quickturn 35 with mazatrol cam 2T.
also being a newbie can someone explain the following acronyms
Free Cnc Programming Software Download
Cad/Cam
G-Code

thanks
